Church Family,
We have begun a 12-week preaching series using the storyline from John Bunyan’s Christian classic, “The Pilgrim’s Progress.” It is the journey every Christian must take, as we make our way out of the “City of Destruction” (this world), travel the “King’s Highway” (the Christian life), and eventually cross the River (death) and enter the “Celestial City” (heaven).
We are encouraging individuals and families to read the book as we make our way through the summer. Perhaps reading it as part of Family Worship, engaging our children as they make their way through the many trials and temptations that are part of our Christian journey, as well.
What follows is an outline we will be following (minus the biblical text for each week). The thought being that it would be helpful to have read in advance what that week’s sermon will be covering. Because most copies of “The Pilgrim’s Progress” don’t come with chapter breaks, I am mentioning what we will be covering.
May this summer’s series, “The Highway to Heaven” be a blessing for us all.
